Am still managing to maintain the 24 mpg average as long as I keep the tach at 2000 – 2200 rpm. Once it starts to climb to 3000, the mpg takes a drastic plunge.
Oregon. Wow, this state is just as lovely as legend makes it. The eastern Columbia Plateau makes for easy traveling, as there are not so many high mountains to cross. There are a few, but for the most part they are not as high as the Cascades.
First, I want to thank those who have logged on to gofundme.com and donated to this trip. You have my utmost gratitude, and I will not forget your belief in my dream. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. It's amazing what crosses your mind while driving across this country on the secondary roads. You see some absolutely beautiful sights. More so than on the interstates where you see mostly trees, and not much else.
Hwy 191 south out of Bozeman, MT, to Hwy is such a magnificent drive, I have an entire photo album balled as such. Every few hundred feet, you are staring with your mouth open, whispering, “OMG”. It was very difficult to not stop every 5 minutes to take a picture of the wonderful vista.
Visited the Little Bighorn Battlefield the other day. Was more an experience than I expected. Quite a different feeling than when I visited Civil War Battlefields. I wasn't going to go, but it was too pretty a day to sit in camp and do camp stuff. Now I am glad I went.
